This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $37,778.  Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

 

About the Job:

The Local Emergency Operations Site Coordinator reports to assigned Regional Testing Supervisor and manages an assigned Testing Strike Team to be responsible for the testing operations on site. This role is field-based and will be assigned per Preparedness District (1-10) operational need.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Manage assigned Mobile Testing Unit and Team, including but not limited to testing supply inventory, testing equipment, and routine vehicle maintenance.  Maintain and protect state assets as assigned; provide training to ensure proper usage.
  • Ensures team delivers culturally competent care.  Verifies the team's tasks are completed and reported through appropriate channels.
  • Develop schedules and communicate with leadership as appropriate.  Provide input for testing plans and provide information on individual team capability and capacity.
  • Manage logistics and budget requests to maintain assigned team operations.  Ensure cohesive function of the unit and site. 
  • Develop and distribute technical guidance based on team assignments and leadership directives.
  • Support supervisor with outreach to local entities to provide services based on current priorities established by the agency.
  • Manage and respond to requests from local health departments and as identified by Epidemiology surveillance for testing and assigns teams as appropriate.
  • Provide direction and guidance to individual testing teams in order to meet agency objectives.  Redirect and assign work on site to ensure adequate flow and safety of patients.
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues that arise.  Interpret agency directives and apply to situation to accomplish assigned tasks.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience substituted (2:1) with supervisory experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in emergency operations or healthcare related field.
What You'll Need for Success:
  • Maintain valid and current state driver's license.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Must be able to discern priorities and apply sound judgment.
  • Broad knowledge, understanding, and ability to apply the varied, complex and often changing and/or conflicting policies and regulations relating to emergency preparedness initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with National Incident Management System and National Response Framework. 
  • Must complete appropriate DHS/FEMA training within six months of start date.
  • Extensive knowledge of, and ability to use, the complex and varied tools and equipment designed for information sharing.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively both orally and in writing.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
