Salary and Work Location: 

This role is typically filled with a starting salary of $25,766. This position is located in Elkhart.


About the Job:

As the Talent Specialist, you will work in the WorkOne system to connect employers with job seekers.  You will assist the Regional Employer Engagement Team (EET) by maintaining relationships with regional business, Local Economic Development Organizations and Small Business Development Centers.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 


  • Provide meaningful assistance to the Regional Employer Engagement Team (EET) with Regional business customers, Local Economic Development Organizations and Small Business Development Centers.  
  • Engage in data mining through the CRM/Indiana Career Connect (ICC) Search for potential business that could utilize WorkOne services and/or assist the business customers in obtaining job seeker candidates per month.
  • Ensure the active job orders are being worked on effectively to meet business customer needs 
  • Effectively engage and link with business customers, organizations and community leaders to represent WorkOne at business customer/community organization events.   
  • Assist, plan, organize, promote, implement and coordinate with Regional EET to aid and assist in Hiring Fairs or Events for talent recruitment.
  • Speak at community events/groups to promote the services provided by the WorkOne.

What You'll Need for Success:

Education and Work Experience

  • The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have a High School Diploma or HSE (High School Equivalency) and one (1) year of Customer Service experience or some classes in high education.  Recruitment experience is a plus.



  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary
  • Evidence of strong leadership capabilities or previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage relationships, motivate and assist customers at various levels 


Technical Proficiency

  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook preferred.
  • Utilize State’s current client services program.
  • Internet for research into labor market information, veteran programs, services and social media (Example LinkedIn).

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
