About the Job

You will assist in performing Maintenance to Buildings and Grounds at Camp Atterbury and MUTC. Your assistance to the carpentry department is essential in the Military Environment because Cultural and Mechanical Strategies are incorporated into existing custodial and Maintenance Activities.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this roles are as follows:

  • Performs economical erosion control of Buildings and Grounds.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Communicates with customers daily to handle all quality issues, holds, releases, special projects and special requests
  • Improves processes for increasing both efficiency and effectiveness
  • May be required to perform preventative Maintenance on buildings for problems of lights, doors, windows, etc.
  •  Install, repair and maintain all phases of electrical breaker boxes, switches, exhaust fans, lights, exit lights, security lights, water coolers, kitchen equipment, etc;
  • Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as: water pumps, sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, faucets, drain lines, etc;
  • Build, install and repair walls, porches, additions to buildings, doors, locks, screens, windows, drywall, floor tile, roofing, gutters, siding, soffit, bulletin boards, cabinets, counters, furniture, etc;
  • Performs grounds maintenance work including, but not limited to mowing, trimming, fertilizing, leaf removal, trash pick-up, snow and ice removal

What We're Looking For:
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License 
  • High School Diploma or HSE (high school equivalency)
What You'll Need for Success
  • At least one year maintenance experience
  • Ability to read analyze, and interpret blueprints and other remediation plans and documents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Walk/stand for extended periods, climb ladders and structures, kneel and crouch for inspecting on occasion.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
