Salary Information:

This role starts at a base salary of $28,652.

About the Job:

As the Correctional Coordinator, you will serve as the facility's point of contact for requests from Federal and County Courts, the Attorney General's Office, Private Attorneys, and the IDOC Legal Team.  You will ensure the notifications for facility employees regarding necessary presence at hearing are communicated.  Additionally, the position will serve in an adminstrative capacity to ensure clerical and administrative duties are completed to assist continuing operations at the facility.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Receive and communicate requests from Federal and County Courts, the AG's Office, Private Attorneys, and IDOC Legal.
  • Enter and maintain calendar for Video and Telephonic Court hearings, AG desposition, and Private Attorneys.
  • Notify custody department regarding required offender presence at hearings.
  • Supervise and report offender behavior at meetings.
  • Act as a liason between judges, baliffs, attorneys, and parole board members during hearings.
  • Maintain hearing records for up to 3 years.
  • Maintain facility offender population count board.
  • Ensure information in command center binders and staff emergency contact sheets are up to date.
  • Assist with the ACA Policy and Grievance Processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
  • One year relevant administrative work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of court sceduling and reporting requirements.
  • General knowledge of American Correctional Association (ACA) and IDOC Grievance processes.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Advanced knowledge of IDOC and facility procedures.
  • Working knowledge of departmental forms, procedures and management.
  • Specialized knowledge of departmental software.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
