About Pokagon State Park:
Pokagon State Park is named to acknowledge the rich Native American heritage of the state and region. Leopold and Simon Pokagon, father and son, were notable leaders of the Potawatomi. Pokagon means “something used to shield,” a fitting attribute of two leaders who championed for Native-American rights. The park is framed by Lake James and Snow Lake which offer opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, and scenic sunsets. Pokagon is also a favorite winter destination for cross-country skiing, sledding, twin-track tobogganing, ice fishing, and a twin-track toboggan run.
Salary Information:
The pay for these seasonal positions may vary but traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $12.25.
Pokagon State Park is currently hiring toboggan attendants. Toboggan attendants provide quality customer service at the toboggan run. Attendants maintain the toboggan ice track, remove snow from walkways and tracks, and monitor the safety of all riders. This role is responsible for the collection of revenue from fees and permits and cash/credit card handling duties.
What You'll Need for Success:
- May be expected to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- May be required to wear a DNR provided uniform
- May experience working directly with DOC work release crews
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license
- May be required to travel to additional properties
- May perform duties in a variety of different environments, including an office, field, rugged terrain, and various weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc)

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
