The Indiana State Park Inns are one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country. We proudly operate seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana that offer a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally!
Potawatomi Inn: The historic Potawatomi Inn, located within Pokagon State Park, sits along the shore of one of Indiana’s largest lakes, Lake James, in Angola, Indiana. The inn features 126 guest rooms, 12 cabins, two onsite restaurants (Lakeview Restaurant and the Courtyard Café), an indoor pool, and 10,000 square feet of banquet/conference space.
Salary Information:
Hourly rate varies based on position but starts at a minimum of $15.23 per hour.
Maintenance:
This department evaluates maintenance needs with high-quality standards and an exceptional guest service mindset. They are primarily responsible for responding to all general maintenance service calls, maintaining Life Safety standards, performing necessary tasks, and demonstrating knowledge relating to hotel property maintenance. Positions may include but are not limited to Garderners and Maintenance Technicians.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Facilitates the daily maintenance operations throughout the property by walk-through and visual inspections assessing the safe and efficient maintenance of the physical structure of the hotel, kitchen, restaurant, banquet, and dining areas
- Performs basic repair and maintenance of facilities, guest rooms, and public spaces
- Maintains building by performing/directing basic repairs, carpentry, shoveling, clean-up work, snow-ice removal, plumbing, electrical wiring, painting, and related maintenance activities
- Inspects and maintains machinery and equipment for conformance with operations, optimizing the assets, and meeting safety standards
- Moves supplies, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and guest luggage as required
- Able to maintain all Indiana State Park Inns standards and excel during annual inspections
- Properly maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies required for daily operations and projects
- Organizes tools and supplies to increase productivity
- Provides timely and professional assistance to the other departments of the hotel
- Accountable for materials used and requesting of items needed for projects
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Handles chemicals according to hotel/regulatory safety requirements
- Ensures security of any assigned keys and RFID key system

What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- Strong knowledge of commercial building repair and maintenance to include all trades i.e. Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, Paint, Carpentry, and Carpet repair
- Ensure the safe operation of tools. Read basic building plans and researching product drawings, specifications, and manuals
- Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor in an outside environment
- Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- Availability to work a varied schedule including holidays, weekends, and nights as business dictates
- Frequent standing; walking; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds
- Requires repetitive motion and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock

Indiana State Park Inns supplements its full-time workforce with intermittent or part-time employees to effectively manage the workload, plan for employee absences, and other situations. Management will determine which positions are part-time and which are considered intermittent. Part-time and intermittent employees enjoy flexible scheduling, and opportunities to learn new skills, and your workplace will be one of the most beautiful places in Indiana!
Part-time: Employees who work 30-36 hours per week and are placed in a part-time position. These positions' hours may vary per week depending on the business needs and staffing levels within the operations. They will be eligible for a limited benefits package which includes medical insurance, paid time off, and new parent leave.
Intermittent: Employees who work less than 30 hours per week are placed in intermittent positions. Intermittent employees are not eligible for benefits.
