Role Overview:
The Governor’s Summer Internship Program (GSI) is designed to give college students real-world, hands-on experience in their desired field of study to enhance marketability upon graduation. The Governor’s Summer Intern will work as part of the Youth Initiatives (YI) team under the Talent Development division umbrella and will assist the YI team with marketing and online presence, collaborate with inter-agency partners on projects as needed, assist with new case management system training roll-out, compile, create, and distill survey response data, and support both the Jobs for America’s Graduates and Out of School Youth staff. This position will operate in a hybrid format; interns must be comfortable working in a virtual setting.
Salary Statement:
The hourly rate for this position is $16.24 for those who do not hold a bachelor’s degree & $17.24 for those who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher by the time the internship starts.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Maintenance of a JAG alumni online presence with the purpose of better connecting JAG graduates after their formal completion of the program
- Assist with marketing and promotional materials for JAG, Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate, and Out of School Youth Programming
- Creation and data compilation of staff surveys, including but not limited to: JAG Summer Training, JAG Force case management system training, and annual JAG Pulse survey
- Updating and cleaning up of curriculum warehouse, assuring all materials are active and relevant as well as replacing and/or creating materials that are no longer relevant
- Assistance with various social media campaigns in coordination with the Associate Youth Director of Youth Initiatives
- Assistance in the creation of training materials for Summer Training and JAG Force training. The intern will be expected to play an active role in helping the events go smoothly for staff
- Participation in all staff meetings as able, including but not limited to YI, JAG Manager, JAG Coordinator, and Youth Director meetings
- Search for and recommend potential grant opportunities where YI program staff may be able to apply for additional funding
- Creation and live presentation of training material on a topic where the intern is a subject matter expert for JAG State Training
- Coordinate and as timelines allow, work with the Special Populations Manager to implement ways for better connectivity for Department of Corrections youth with the potential to be served in agency programs
- Creation of promotional materials, not limited to but including digital, print, and video for Out of School Youth population, showcasing program success
- Creation of assigned competency videos that will be shared with JAG students who are learning virtually; the intern will also be responsible for uploading videos to already-created competency site
- Creation of a pre-recorded video detailing their JAG journey through the Summer Internship program to be used at Junior Achievement JobSpark 2025
- Attend JobSpark cluster meetings as assigned and give input on potential activities for the event that would appeal to attendees
- Learn and exhibit comfort of use in the Indiana Career Connect job matching system to review customer documents as needed
- Demonstrate competency in using internal survey software programming and producing reports for the Regional Support Management Team
- Exhibit competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including the use of PowerPoint to make presentations
- Assist in migration of JAG Indiana curriculum to new software formats as needed

- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate with an accredited post-secondary institution and have completed at least one (1) year of undergraduate education.
