About the job:

Position provides professional knowledge, experience, and direction in the execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing design for capital improvements, operation, and rehabilitation of proposed or existing facilities maintained by the land holding Divisions of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

A day in the life:

--Position provides design and construction assessments to the safety and security of buildings on DNR owned or leased lands in terms of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

--Provide Professional Engineer seal on drawings and providing associated specifications and construction documents

--Provide MEP designs and troubleshooting allowing a facility to be placed in-service while maintaining health and safety standards

--Preparation and submittal for permits based upon IBC, USOCE, IDHS, and AASHTO design criteria

--Approving material submittals and fielding requests for information associated with construction or design contracts in the MEP section

What we're looking for:

--Obtain and maintain License in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Indiana Professional Licensing Agency

--Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related accredited degree

--Broad knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing fields

--HVAC design and installation for residential and small industrial buildings

--Extensive knowledge of State and Federal regulations and applicable Building codes (IBC, USOCE, DHS and AASHTO) including electrical loading and distribution, generator sizing, sanitary plumbing calculations, and HVAC design

--Working knowledge of Indiana Boiler and Pressure Vessel program, Indiana Underground Storage Tank program, and industry LEED Energy programs.

Requirements:

--Majority of work will be in office environment, but 10-15% of work will be in field locations.

--May encounter inclement and extreme temperatures

--May be required to drive in inclement weather

--May work extended days for remote locations

--Must be able to lift or carry equipment in the 20-50 lb range

--Must maintain a valid driver's license
