The starting salary for this position is $26,702 and may be commensurate with education and experience. 

About the Job:

You will serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Information Officer of the Directorate of Information Management. You will keep all office administrative records and files within the office.  You will represent agency, institutions, or departments in a variety of situations with other departments, institutions, the general public, and special interest groups for the Directorate of Information Management.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Reviews total department or agency organizational structure and functions and prepares changes to promote efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Updates status board with information obtained from branch chiefs;
  • Maintains central files and library, suspense files, and personnel records and attendance reporting;
  • Provides guidance and supervision in the preparation of correspondence and reports;
  • Reviews office organizational structure and functions and prepares changes to promote efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Administers staff functions in support of program areas;
  • Prepares special reports on alternative methods of achieving new program responsibilities;
  • Represents the Directorate of Information Management in a variety of situations with other departments, institutions, the general public, and special interest groups  including vendor interactions, etc;
  • Prepares administrative rules and procedures for the Directorate of Information Management;
  • Follows-up on plans, programs, policies, and procedures to insure progress and accomplishments and reports status to the Directorate of Information Management

What You'll Need for Success:

This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • High school diploma or HSE
  • Four (4) years work experience in administrative support; business administration; program support; public administration; or accredited college training in a related field.
  • knowledge of Army Regulation 25-50 and the Army writing style (passive voice
  • General knowledge of office administration functions
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and priories work.
  • Ability to establish cooperative work relationships
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
